Africa-Press – Tanzania. Political and diplomatic analyst Dennis Muchunguzi has called on Tanzanians to remain calm and patient as they await the report of the commission investigating incidents of unrest that occurred during and after the General Election of October 29, 2025.
Speaking to media outlets in Dar es Salaam today, April 13, 2026, Muchunguzi cautioned against making premature judgments or spreading unverified information about the report before its official release. He emphasized that no one currently knows the contents of the report, and urged the public to wait for the official findings in accordance with the commission’s terms of reference.
He noted that Tanzania is founded on principles of peace, unity, solidarity, and union, adding that once the report is released, citizens should uphold these values through forgiveness and tolerance. He highlighted the 4R philosophy championed by Samia Suluhu Hassan, reconciliation, resilience, reforms, and rebuilding as a critical framework for strengthening national cohesion.
Muchunguzi further stated that societies that embrace forgiveness and self-correction when mistakes occur tend to build stronger foundations for peace and long-term stability. He also remarked that while the events of October 29, 2025 cannot be erased from the country’s history, they should serve as an important lesson to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
He concluded by urging all Tanzanians to practice the 4R philosophy actively, stressing that national unity remains a vital asset that must be safeguarded at all costs.
