Tanzania’s Defence Minister attends UN conference on Peacekeeping operations

Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Minister of Defence and National Service, Dr. Stergomena Tax, has held talks with Tanzania’s Ambassador to Germany, Hassani Mwamweta, focusing on strengthening relations between Tanzania and Germany as well as Tanzania’s contribution to global peacekeeping operations.

The discussions took place today, May 13, 2025, in Germany, shortly after Minister Tax arrived in the country for an official working visit.

Upon her arrival, she was formally received by Ambassador Hassani Mwamweta.

The purpose of her visit is to participate in the United Nations Peacekeeping Ministerial Conference 2025, which brings together Defence Ministers from countries involved in UN peacekeeping operations. The conference is being held from today, May 13 to 14, 2025.

Tanzania’s participation in this conference reflects the country’s commitment to actively contribute to international peacekeeping efforts and further strengthen military and diplomatic cooperation with fellow United Nations member states.
