Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Parliamentary Committee on Infrastructure has urged the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) to closely supervise the contractor implementing the construction project for modern buildings at the Tanzania Civil Aviation Training Centre (CATC), to ensure the project is completed on time and meets the required standards.
The statement was made by the Committee’s Acting Chairperson, Johnston Mutasigwa, during the committee’s visit to TCAA. He emphasized the importance of strong oversight of strategic projects to strengthen the country’s aviation sector. He also advised the authority to improve airstrips located in conservation areas frequently used by tourists, in order to enhance efficiency and attract more visitors.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister for Transport, David Kihenzile, said the government is committed to improving the aviation sector through the construction, rehabilitation, and expansion of infrastructure. He noted that these improvements will enable the sector to grow rapidly, increase competitiveness, and enhance aviation safety.
On his part, TCAA Director General, Salim Msangi, said the authority has received the Parliamentary Committee’s recommendations and pledged to implement them. He added that TCAA will continue to professionally and effectively supervise the contractor for the college project to ensure the intended objectives are achieved.
