Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Tanzanian government has pledged to continue attracting investors to the country by improving the investment climate, including strengthening infrastructure and addressing emerging challenges.
This effort aims to create more jobs, increase the national income, and advance the growth of a competitive industrial economy.
The commitment was made by the Minister for Industry and Trade, Judith Kapinga, during her visit to Goodwill Ceramic and Keda Ceramics factories located in Mkuranga, Pwani Region.
Minister Kapinga stated that the purpose of the visit was to observe production activities, listen to investors’ challenges, and work on finding solutions.
She added that the factories use locally sourced raw materials and produce high-quality goods carrying the “Made in Tanzania” label, which are now being sold in international markets, including the United States and Italy.
Furthermore, Minister Kapinga described the factories as examples of successful investments in the country, applauding them for their contribution to youth employment. Goodwill Ceramic provides 1,600 direct jobs, while Keda Ceramics offers 5,000 direct jobs and 40,000 indirect jobs. She noted that these efforts support the government’s goal of achieving eight million jobs nationwide.
Meanwhile, the District Commissioner of Mkuranga, Khadija Nasri Ali, said they will continue creating a conducive environment for investors, especially in Mkuranga District, emphasizing that the country is safe and ready to welcome more investors.
The Managing Director of Goodwill Ceramic, Eric Jiang, and the Deputy CEO of KEDA, Wayne Zhong, thanked the government for its strong support to investors, noting that this cooperation has encouraged them to invest and conduct business in Tanzania, which they described as a safe and promising destination for investment.
Speaking on behalf of the employees, John Chimwejo from KEDA and Jelly Marandu from Goodwill urged both public and private institutions to continue supporting these industries, as they play a key role in creating jobs for youth and boosting the community’s economy.
