Africa-Press – Tanzania. UDBS Head of Finance Department, Dr Tobias Swai told reporters in Dar es Salaam yesterday that the forum meant to promote and accelerate understanding of banking, finance and investment in Tanzania and beyond other productive sectors of economy.
“Tanzania and Africa as a whole is quite rich in the availability of local resources and relatively low labour costs. However, there is no much investment which has been recorded in the past decades,” DrSwai said.
According to DrSwai, the areas to be covered during the forum include Youth and Employability, Getting Ready for the Banking Job Market, Health Break and Networking event, Perspectives of Digital Banking, DSE Scholarship Investment Challenge, Youth and Investment, Youth and Professional Development, Insurance Sector (Market Report 2019-2021 Opportunities) and Mortgage Finance (Opportunities, Issues and Prospects).
“Exhibition and Public Forum will attract professionals and experienced experts in banking, finance and investments. The participants will be from academia, private sector, business associations, development participants, government, regional bodies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs),” he explained.
DrSwai said everything regarding the forum was in place, saying that UDBS through its finance department was all out to transform banking, finance and investment sectors so as they could contribute significantly in all sectors of economy.
“More future forums planned for 2023 will be held in February, May, August and November,” DrSwai, calling on Development Partners, Private Sector, Business Associations, NGOs and Individual sponsors to support the forum for betterment of the country.
DrSwai said the forum was all about bringing finance into practice and that the first and second similar platforms were fruitful and instrumental for players in banking, finance and investment sectors.
