Africa-Press – Tanzania. YOUNG Africans SC will resume training on Monday, with all locally based and foreign players not called up for national team duty expected to report as the champions gear up for a demanding run of Premier League and international fixtures early next year.

The restart comes as several key Yanga players depart for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, which kicks off on December 21.

Six Yanga stars have earned national team callups: Dickson Job, Ibrahim Hamad Abdulla, Bakari Mwamnyeto and Mohamed Hussein join Tanzania’s Taifa Stars, while goalkeeper Djigui Diarra links up with Mali and forward Prince Dube heads out to represent Zimbabwe.

Speaking at a press conference recently in Dar es Salaam, the club’s Communication Manager, Ali Kamwe, confirmed the training schedule, noting that the squad had been on a short break.

“Our technical bench announced a break from December 7 to December 15. Players will return on December 15 to resume training until December 20,” Kamwe said.

“They will then have another short break until December 28 to celebrate the holidays with their families. Training will resume again on December 29 as we prepare for the upcoming fixtures.” Kamwe stressed that early preparation is essential given the club’s tight calendar.

“Early training is necessary as the team has international matches and Premier League fixtures in January, with the league schedule set to be announced by the League Board,” he added.

He also provided positive updates on players rehabilitation, “Yao Kouassi has completed his rehabilitation programme and has begun full conditioning work. Clement Mzize has started light training and is progressing well. Both are expected to return to full match action by late January or early February as our technical team is closely monitoring their progress to ensure a smooth reintegration into the squad.”

Kamwe said by emphasising the importance of strong preparation saying early preparation is key to maintaining physical fitness, tactical discipline and team cohesion.

It allows our coaching staff to implement strategies, correct weaknesses and build on the positives we have seen so far.

Meanwhile Singida Black Stars are also sharpening their preparations as they reorganise their training schedule ahead of the next Premier League phase.

Following a 3–1 loss to TRA United, the team currently 12th on the table with eight points from five games is determined to bounce back stronger.

Club spokesperson Hussein Massanza confirmed that players not on national duty will resume training on December 16, with the technical bench implementing a structured plan to maintain fitness, focus and tactical readiness.

He emphasised that early preparation is essential for improving consistency, enhancing physical conditioning and building team cohesion.

Massanza added that the club remains committed to addressing weaknesses while maximising the positives shown in previous matches, ensuring the squad is fully equipped for the demanding fixtures ahead.
