‘MAGOMENI HOUSING PROJECT ON COURSE’

THE Tanzania Building Agency (TBA) says the Magomeni quarters construction project in Dar es Salaam has reached 69 per cent and is scheduled for completion in April this year.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam, on Saturday during a tour by the Kinondoni District Commissioner (DC), Mr Daniel Chongolo, Project Manager, Bernard Mayemba said the work was progressing well.

He further said that the project involves construction of 644 houses for 644.

Mr Mayemba added that, they have been cooperating well with the government. He stressed that through this, they had successfully set up brick-making factories.

“Our purpose of establishing these industries is to control quality and reduce costs as well as create employment for Tanzanians,” he said.

The Magomeni quarters construction project was launched in 2016 by President Magufuli, promising the previous occupants who vacated to pave way the construction to live in the house rent free for five years as well as offer to buy them at competitive prices.
