MAINTAIN INFRASTRUCTURE, USE OPPORTUNITIES FOR EDUCATION

AfricaPress-Tanzania: SINCE coming to power in 2015, the Fifth Phase Government under President John Magufuli, has emphasized the noble service and accountability of leaders, executives and everyone in his constituency to end the grievances of the people.

Areas that the government has put in place, among other things, are investing in access to clean and safe water along with free education so that even the poorest children have access to that right.

Initially, the major challenges faced by Tanzanians included the lack of access to various services including clean water, electricity, health and some families failing to afford the cost of even basic education for their children.

The existence of various tuition fees and contributions for primary and secondary schools was a hindrance to many families as well, fueling absenteeism and increasing the number of children failing to complete primary or secondary education.

Lack of water services led to the emergence of a group of water suppliers through barrels especially in urban areas so that, in some areas, one water barrel was sold for between Shs 500 to Shs 1,000, thus increasing the hardships of life for the people.

This shortage led to an outbreak of water theft through deregulation of people who built large wells at home and sold retail water to ordinary consumers.

This is because they often spent time tracking lessons, in search of water.

Basically, the persecution was intensifying as salvation was approaching and now it has come to Tanzanians.

Basically, the Government continues to implement the policy of free education and access to other services and the improvement of infrastructure including water and electricity is increasing and improving.

Recently, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Dr. Hassan Abbasi, made it clear to prove how the government is struggling to spend trillions of Tanzanian shillings to implement various development projects and social services including water and education.

In the statement, Dr Abbasi says so far the Government has spent Sh 1.916 trillion to implement 1,845 projects since 2015.

He says in the Magufuli period, Shs 1.291 trillion has been spent on free primary education and helping thousands of children go to school to get the rights they deserve. This requires thanks and congratulations to President Magufuli for implementing.

It is the right and duty of Tanzanians to take care of all infrastructure including water, electricity, education and others, while using the implementation of free education policy as an opportunity for children to access the right to education which if not President Magufuli, they would not have.
