FRIENDLY MATCH WITH KMKM PRODUCTIVE, MWAMBUSI

AfricaPress-Tanzania: YOUNG Africans Assistant Coach Juma Mwambusi has commended his players’ commitment in their convincing victory over KMKM of Zanzibar at Azam Complex on Wednesday.

The assistant coach said the friendly match was very productive as it gave the technical bench additional time of studying players.

Two goals from the team’s midfielder Mukoko Tunombe were enough to give Yanga the victory. But after the match, Mwambusi explained that “Such matches give us the real light of what we should do to make the team better as we build the team by giving each player a chance to play.”

Adding, he said players are still new and they have not been able to completely find a good combination that can give them good results.

The process of getting regular matches is one way to enable everyone play well and get good results. Some of our players like Abdallah Shaibu picked injuries during the training so he will be out for a while and will continue to be cared for by our professionals.

Mwambusi named defender Paul Godfrey among his players still nursing injuries and he will not be able to return to the pitch soon,”said Mwambusi.

He said the rest of squad is fit and players have been doing intensive training ahead of their Saturday match against the Costal Union of Tanga at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

In their last Premier League match, Yanga defeated Mtibwa Sugar 1-0 in a match staged at Jamhuri stadium in Morogoro.
