AfricaPress-Tanzania: ALL eyes will be at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza, where Young Africans face KMC hurdle in a Premier League match today.
A contingent comprising of Yanga players and technical bench members landed safely in Mwanza yesterday, two days after their previous league match against Polisi Tanzania.
KMC, which is based in Dar es Salaam, deliberately requested their game against Yanga to be played outside the city so as to give their fans in Mwanza and nearby areas an opportunity to watch their team from their doorsteps.
It is according to the regulations of the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB), which gives a green light to any team willing to play two matches outside its usual hosting venue.
In this context, both teams will be playing at an away venue since originally, the game was supposed to be staged in the city and not otherwise.
KMC have had a fairly good start of the season as from their seven matches, they have won three games, stamping two draws and recording two losses in that order to pocket 11 points.
In their recent match against Ruvu Shooting, the two teams shared spoils following a 1-1 stalemate with Andrew Vicent, former Yanga defender scoring the only goal for KMC, and he is likely going to trouble his former employer this afternoon.
With probably veteran goalkeeper Juma Kaseja in between the poles, definitely, the game is going to be a rollercoaster such that a side which will plan well will put on a smiling face after the 90 minutes of play.
However, they face an opponent which is yet to taste defeat in the unfolding campaign as they have so far succeed in five straight league matches, hence they are searching their sixth victory.
The record 27-time champions believes that they have assembled enough arsenal to gun down KMC before deploying the same brigade to Mara, where they expect to face Biashara United in their next match before confronting debutants Gwambina FC.
For new coach Cedric Kaze, it will be his second match in the country and his first encounter outside the city and another good test for him as members and fans of the club demand nothing less than the victory.
Following their 1-0 success over Polisi Tanzania on Thursday at Uhuru Stadium in city, pundits lauded on the way Yanga played in contrast with the way they used to play when the team was under the tutelage of the sacked Zlatko Krmpotic.
They said the team was able to play passing football unlike previously whereby they solely depend on long balls and also lacked dominant type of play, which help to distinguish between big and small team.
Until this juncture of the league, only two top teams Azam and Yanga have not lost, with the former enjoying 100 per cent run while the latter were held to a 1-1 draw in their league opening match against Tanzania Prisons
