AfricaPress-Tanzania: AFTER rumours had circulated that Yanga’s keeper, Metacha Mnata, is said to be entering Simba SC’s radar, the player’s manager, Jemedari Said, has said that the goalkeeper still belongs to Yanga.

Mnata is the number one goalkeeper at Yanga and he is currently in Kenya with the Tanzania’s senior national team, Taifa Stars, preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Rumours had it that Simba SC’s bosses were trying to pursue Mnata to add strength to the Vodacom Premier League defending champions’ squad.

Simba SC represents Tanzania in this season’s CAF Champions League.

Said insisted that there is no truth in the matter and Mnata is still a Yanga player.

He disclosed: “Mnata is a Yanga player, he has a contract with the club, stating he is about to be signed by Simba, when that is not really true, is an insult to Yanga.”

“It will not be possible for Simba to sign a player who has a contract with his outfit. There is a clear registration process and both teams know so there is no truth in that matter,” he said.

Yanga were reported that they terminated their contract with first-choice keeper, Metacha Mnata, just a day after the team had fired their entire technical bench.

Mnata also wrote a farewell message to Yanga family confirming his exit from the team on his social media page, which he later deleted.

The rumours were dashed away by Yanga’s Chairman, Mshindo Msolla, last week.

Msolla moreover insisted that Mnata s still their player they already held a meeting to clear the ongoing misunderstanding.

The Yanga official was adamant that everything is okay at the club and with Mnata as well.

Mnata begun his career at Azam FC in 2017/18 season, before heading out to Mbao FC at the end of season. He joined Yanga in 2019/10 season to this day.

The 22-year old was selected for Taifa Stars for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations and he made his debut in the last group game against Algeria on July 1 2019.
