AfricaPress-Tanzania: REGIONAL Basketball League (RBA) storms into a play-off stage today at Kurasini Harbours courts in Dar es Salaam pitching four giants on what observers label it a fight of titans.
Vijana City Bulls will be the first on court facing ABC before letting JKT play Ukonga Kings at the same venue later on.
Prior to today’s encounter, the four teams had good performance last Wednesday which awarded them tickets to play in the quarterfinal’s play off.
JKT showed how powerful and dominant they are when they secured a comfortable 85- 65 win over Ukonga Kings. JKT’s win was an evidence of their long consistency in the league since its beginning in mid this year.
Prior to their first playoff game, they have been expressing how loud they are by winning all their 15 games they had played previously.
For Ukonga Kings, the league was tight as they could have missed the play-off opportunity looking behind they shared the same points with Savio and Diamond Trust Bank (DTB).
On the same day, Vijana City Bull (VBC) collected a ten-point’s different win in their 81-71 victory over Army Basketball Club (ABC) at the same venue, Harbours court.
It was an interesting game as both clubs showed challenge and beauty in a game.
Looking at the league standing record it was astonishing to see Vijana City Bulls who are the defending champions winning over ABC who looked better in stats as they have 12 of their 15 games as opposed to Vijana who have won 10 of their 15 games.
Vijana City Bulls’ win has indeed returned the club hopes to defend the title once again only if they maintain consistency.
However, this year’s competition seems to be more competitive compared to the previous years, according to then views of basketball enthusiast.
