Africa-Press – Uganda. As Africa’s podcasting ecosystem continues to evolve, one question remains at the forefront for creators across the continent: how can you grow your podcast and turn it into a sustainable business?
This Africa Podcast Day, Creata Connect—the community arm of Next Creata—is creating space for that conversation.
On 12 February 2026, creatives, podcasters, and media professionals gathered for a special edition of Creata Connect themed Growth and Monetisation of Podcasts.
The event ran from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and featured an intimate fireside discussion, followed by community conversations and a networking session designed to spark learning, connection, and collaboration.
Creata Connect exists to bring creatives together in a practical and intentional way. As the community platform under Next Creata, it provides a space for creatives to network, learn, and grow while gaining access to real-world insights that help turn creative skills into viable careers.
This edition was especially timely. Podcasting has become one of the fastest-growing storytelling formats across Africa, with creators using audio to document culture, share lived experiences, and build loyal communities.
Despite this growth, many podcasters continue to face challenges around scaling their platforms and monetising their work. Creata Connect aims to bridge that gap by shifting the conversation from passion to sustainability.
Headlining the event were respected voices in storytelling, media, and communications. Alan Kasujja, a seasoned journalist and broadcaster, shared his deep experience in audio storytelling and audience engagement.
George the Poet, an award-winning spoken word artist, podcaster, and cultural thinker, offered a global perspective on creativity, ownership, and building purpose-driven platforms.
Joining them was Aggie Turwomwe, a communications specialist and podcaster whose work sits at the intersection of storytelling, strategy, and impact.
The evening flowed from the fireside discussion into community conversations, allowing attendees to engage, ask questions, and share their own experiences before transitioning into a networking session focused on building meaningful creative connections.
Beyond the programme, this edition of Creata Connect reinforced Next Creata’s broader mission of building sustainable pathways for creatives.
By creating consistent spaces for learning, dialogue, and connection, the platform empowers creatives to see their work not only as expression but as enterprise.
As Africa Podcast Day is marked across the continent, Creata Connect serves as a reminder that the future of podcasting lies in strong communities that support growth, collaboration, and monetisation.
Creata Connect is more than an event—it is a community, a learning space, and a growing network for creatives ready to take the next step.
