Africa-Press – Uganda. The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, has announced that the newly elected legislators will be sworn in over three days, from May 13 to 15, 2026, at Parliament.

The ceremony will be led by the Clerk to Parliament, marking the formal start of the 12th Parliament following the recent general elections.

“The swearing-in of the newly elected members of Parliament will be conducted at Parliament and will be led by the Clerk to Parliament,” Among said while chairing a session paying tribute to the late Ngora District Woman MP, Stella Apolot Isodo.Following the swearing-in, MPs will hold their first parliamentary session, where they are expected to vote for a new Speaker and Deputy Speaker.

Among those who won their seats unopposed in the recent elections are Anita Among (Bukedea Woman MP), Thomas Tayebwa (Ruhinda North MP), Lillian Paparu Obiale (Arua Woman MP), and Ruth Rujoki Mushabe (Kiruhura Woman MP).
