Africa-Press – Uganda. Multichoice Uganda has rolled out a bold new campaign dubbed “Ka Weekie”, allowing DStv and GOtv subscribers to pay for television services on a weekly basis, starting from as little as Shs5,000.

The initiative, launched this week, is designed to offer viewers greater flexibility in how they access and pay for content.

It specifically targets customers with dynamic lifestyles—such as frequent travellers, students, or those on tight budgets—who may not require full monthly subscriptions.

“This innovation is about giving our customers control—letting them choose how and when they pay without losing the content they value,” said Collin Asiimwe, head of marketing at Multichoice Uganda.

“It’s about variety, inclusion, and making our services work better for different lifestyles.”

Under Ka Weekie, existing subscribers can switch between weekly and monthly payments while retaining access to their current channel packages.

New customers, however, will be required to activate a full monthly subscription before they can take advantage of the weekly plan.

Multichoice Uganda clarified that the weekly payment model does not compromise on content. All channels remain accessible based on the subscribed bouquet, ensuring customers enjoy the same viewing experience—just on a shorter billing cycle.

The move comes as the pay-TV industry faces increasing pressure from streaming platforms, pushing traditional providers to offer more flexible and affordable options.

By introducing Ka Weekie, Multichoice Uganda positions itself as a responsive and customer-centric player in an evolving entertainment landscape.

“We’re not replacing the monthly payment option,” Asiimwe emphasized. “We’re simply adding more choice—because life isn’t one-size-fits-all.”
