Africa-Press – Uganda. At just 23, Kenneth Galiwango is making a name for himself as one of Uganda’s most promising young media entrepreneurs, reshaping how East Africans consume news through authentic, fast-paced, and engaging digital content.

Born on July 15, 2002, in Kampala, Galiwango grew up fascinated by the power of stories to connect communities.

His education took him through Wampeewo Ntakke Secondary School, Kitetika High School, and later Princess Diana High School, where he completed his A-Levels in 2020. Though without formal training in journalism or technology, he taught himself digital skills that would later fuel his entrepreneurial rise.

His first step into business came in 2019 with the launch of Santa Barber Shop in Mpererwe, which honed his ability to engage people.

By February 2025, Galiwango had founded a digital media initiative offering breaking news, politics, celebrity gossip, and lifestyle content. Through strategic use of social media and a modern website, he steadily built a loyal following despite the hurdles of funding, competition, and resources.

The name of his platform—drawing from the generosity of “Santa”—embodies its mission to deliver news as a gift: fresh, trustworthy, and accessible to Ugandans.

His approach combines bite-sized updates on TikTok with detailed features on the website, guided by analytics to meet evolving audience needs.

Targeting a youthful demographic between 18 and 45 years old, Galiwango’s platform has been praised for its immediacy, authenticity, and relatability.

Readers increasingly describe it as a refreshing alternative to legacy media, while his focus on independent storytelling ensures content remains free from corporate or political influence.

Galiwango says his journey has not been without challenges—securing funding, building a team, and competing with established outlets required long hours and resilience. Yet he views these obstacles as stepping stones.

“Start small but think big. Focus on a niche, master digital tools like SEO and analytics, and above all, stay authentic,” he advises aspiring entrepreneurs.

Looking to the future, Galiwango envisions his brand becoming one of East Africa’s leading digital media platforms within the next five years. With plans to expand multimedia features and forge regional partnerships, he is determined to continue delivering unbiased, impactful content that informs and inspires.
