Africa-Press – Uganda. MTN Uganda has announced it will sponsor celebrated rapper Navio’s much-anticipated “Orchestra Experience” concert, reaffirming its role as the country’s biggest supporter of Ugandan music.
The announcement was made Thursday, September 18, at MTN’s headquarters in Kampala, where Navio joined MTN officials and music stakeholders to unveil plans for the first-of-its-kind event.
The concert, which will mark Navio’s 10th major showcase, is set to deliver a unique blend of Hip Hop and live orchestra, redefining live performance in Uganda.
It will also be the rapper’s debut at the prestigious Kampala Serena Hotel.
“MTN Uganda has always stood with artists who move audiences and inspire communities. Navio is an icon in Ugandan music and this concert is another bold step that reflects the evolution of our local music industry,” said John Paul Okwi, MTN Uganda’s Events and Sponsorships Manager.
“Together, our music is unstoppable.”
Navio, who has enjoyed a decade-long partnership with MTN, expressed gratitude for the support, highlighting the significance of this milestone concert.
“After doing nine concerts, we knew we had to do something different for the 10th one. This is going to be my first concert in Serena, and it will be the first time we have an urban artist with an orchestra. We’ve had a steadfast vision, and I want to thank MTN Uganda and everyone who’s come on board and tried to understand it,” he said.
The partnership between MTN and Navio stretches back to 2016 when he served as ambassador for the MTN Smart Series.
His music has been promoted through CallerTunez, album launches, and performances at MTN-sponsored events like the Hip Hop Awards and Full Moon Party.
He has also featured in MTN campaigns such as Pulse Rap Battles and MTN MoMo engagements.
Tickets for the concert are available exclusively via MTN MoMo and select outlets. Early bird tickets are priced at Shs130,000, with standard tickets at Shs150,000.
VIP access costs Shs3 million, VVIP at Shs5 million, and a Platinum experience is available at Shs10 million.
MTN Uganda said the sponsorship underscores its commitment to supporting Ugandan talent and enriching the nation’s cultural identity.
