Africa-Press – Uganda. Namugongo Secondary and Vocational School is riding high after clinching the 2025 Uganda National Volleyball Championship, and the team is now setting its sights on regional glory at the East African Games, scheduled for August 10–20 in Kakamega, Kenya.
In a thrilling national final, Namugongo edged out Bukedea Comprehensive School to reclaim the coveted title.
The victory has fueled hopes and national pride as the school prepares to fly Uganda’s flag in the upcoming regional contest.
Team captain Kisomose Dennis Jr. expressed his gratitude and called on fellow Ugandans to back the squad.
“We are ready. We’ve worked hard for this moment, and we vow to bring back the trophy,” he said.
“Thanks to the Almighty for seeing us through the national tournament.”
But as the team prepares for its next challenge, a major hurdle remains—funding. Kisomose made a heartfelt appeal for financial support to help the team travel to and participate in the games.
“We need your support. This is a great opportunity not just for Namugongo Vocational, but for Uganda. Help us make it happen,” he said.
Well-wishers, alumni, and members of the public are encouraged to contribute directly through the school’s Head Teacher, Mr Francis Awee, via mobile money: 0772989754 / 0701343345.
With skill, spirit, and national pride, Namugongo’s volleyball team is ready to make Uganda proud—if they can get the support they need to reach the court.
