Africa-Press – Uganda. Next Media has unveiled Next Creata, a groundbreaking platform aimed at transforming Uganda’s creative and influencer economy by enabling artists, creators, and influencers to earn sustainably from their work.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, attended by dignitaries, including Thomas Tayebwa, Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Next Media CEO Kariisa highlighted the untapped potential of the creative industry, which he said is constrained by several key challenges.
“There are several issues crippling the creative sector,” Kariisa said.
“The most pressing are timely payouts, lack of standardization, and the high cost of production. Next Creata is here to change that narrative, ensuring creators are valued, supported, and, most importantly, paid on time.”
Next Creata will serve as a one-stop platform for creators to showcase their work, collaborate with brands, and receive transparent, prompt payments.
Kariisa emphasized that the platform is part of Next Media’s broader mission to fuel innovation and grow Uganda’s digital economy.
“Today’s young people are full of talent and creativity,” he added. “What they need is a system that recognizes their effort, rewards their output, and gives them room to grow. That is what Next Creata stands for.”
Deputy Speaker Tayebwa praised Next Media for its commitment to national development through innovation, noting that a well-structured creative sector could become one of Uganda’s biggest sources of income and employment.
“The future belongs to creators,” Tayebwa said. “Platforms like Next Creata will not only help monetize talent but also professionalize the industry, making it a respected and well-paying career path.”
Industry players, influencers, and entertainers at the launch described Next Creata as a timely intervention, capable of addressing longstanding challenges in Uganda’s creative ecosystem — from underpayment and lack of standards to limited access to production facilities.
