Africa-Press – Uganda. The National Unity Platform (NUP) has conducted vetting of candidates aspiring for various positions in the regions of Greater Mubende, Bugisu, and Bukedi.
Aspirants were required to respond to several questions and pledge loyalty to the party, vowing to carry its flag in the positions they seek.
Today marks six days since the NUP Political Party Electoral Committee began the vetting process at different levels.
The exercise has focused on aspirants from Greater Mubende, Bugisu, and Bukedi.
Upon arrival, aspirants were briefed by the electoral committee leaders on how the process would proceed.
Some aspirants expressed satisfaction with the questions asked, commending the process as transparent and fair.
They noted that the exercise is designed to help the party identify credible leaders who will guide their communities up to 2031.
Among those who attended was Alex Kalyebu, a chapati maker contesting for the Bunyori East seat.
Kalyebu said that if awarded the party nomination, he will use the opportunity to uplift the welfare of chapati makers in his region.
