Africa-Press – Uganda. The Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf proudly joined Rotarians across Districts 9213 and 9214 to mark World Polio Day on Friday, 24th October 2025, in a powerful show of solidarity and commitment to a polio-free world.

Under the leadership of District Governor Kyeyune Kawooya, Rotarians gathered at Nsambya Hospital, Ggaba Branch, to participate in a series of activities aimed at raising awareness and supporting Rotary International’s global End Polio Now campaign.

The day’s activities began with immunisation exercises at Nsambya Hospital in partnership with the Ministry of Health, WHO, UNICEF, PATH, and other partners. Later in the afternoon, Rotarians, Rotaractors, and partners marched from Speke Resort Munyonyo to Fusion Auto Spa and back, spreading the message of a polio-free Uganda.

The Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf was ably represented by President-Elect Mario Odido, who joined hundreds of volunteers, medical workers, and fellow Rotarians to amplify the call for immunisation and continued investment in polio eradication efforts.

World Polio Day serves as a reminder of the critical role Rotary has played globally in reducing polio cases by over 99%, and the ongoing efforts to reach every child with life-saving vaccines.

Together, as one Rotary family, we continue to stand for ‘Service Above Self’ and work towards a world where every child is free from the threat of polio.
