Local Government and Rural Development Minister, Gift Sialubalo, said proper waste disposal is essential to reducing pollution and protecting public health.
Mr. Sialubalo made the remarks when he flagged off a cleaning exercise in the Kapiri Mposhi Central Business District, joining the Council, marketeers, and other stakeholders under the Keep Zambia Clean, Green and Healthy campaign.
He also commended Kapiri Mposhi Town Council for the quality and progress of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects being implemented in the district.
Meanwhile, Council Chairperson, Brilliant Munyeke, thanked Government for increasing CDF allocations and expressed hope that delimitation will expand the number of constituencies benefiting from the funds.
Council Secretary, Collins Ndilima, added that new health facilities in Mushimbili Ward have improved access to medical services, with a resident nurse now stationed in the community for the first time.
