Africa-Press – Zambia. The National Council of Students Union (NACOSU) has urged students across the country to register as voters in the upcoming 2026 general elections.
NACOSU Chairperson, Michelo Chizombe, said voter registration will enable students to choose leaders who prioritize their needs, including meal allowances.
Addressing students at the Copperbelt University (CBU), Mr. Chizombe emphasized the importance of voter registration, warning that failure to do so would disadvantage students and their future.
Meanwhile, Kitwe District Commissioner Oncemore Ngonomo encouraged students to continue supporting President Hakainde Hichilema’s government beyond 2026.
Earlier, CBU Interim President Lloyd Nsonge expressed gratitude to the UPND government for its support to students through initiatives such as meal allowances, scholarships, and free education.
