Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. A Honda Fit driver in Harare has been arrested after allegedly fatally assaulting a passenger following a dispute over small change.
In Zimbabwe’s informal market, ZiG20 is equivalent to US$0.50.
Police have identified the suspect as Luckman Kamangile (27) and confirmed that he is facing murder charges in connection with the incident, which occurred on 19 November 2025 in the Walter Mukamba area of Ruwa.
Police said that the victim, Amos Karumba (40), had boarded the suspect’s vehicle at the George area, Ruwa, heading to Walter Mukamba.
Karumba paid US$1 for the fare, but a disagreement arose over ZiG20 in change. The suspect allegedly assaulted Karumba with open hands during the dispute.
Tragically, Karumba later succumbed to his injuries while sleeping at home.
