Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. ZIMBABWEAN music sensation Jah Prayzah is set to enthrall music fans in the United States (US) with two highly anticipated performances in Washington DC and Dallas, Texas, as part of his NdiniMukudzei World Tour.
The global tour, which kicked off in Harare with the spectacular launch of Jah Prayzah’s 14th album, promises to be a resounding success.
The Washington DC show is set for July 4, followed by the Dallas, Texas, performance the next day.
Prior to the US leg, Jah Prayzah will perform in Toronto, Canada, on July 1, and then in Japan on July 15.
The tour will feature performances in the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia and South Africa.
US-based Zimbabwean music promoters Bevan Makaka and DJ Nhunzi, who are behind the shows in Washington DC and Dallas, expressed confidence in the tour’s success.
Said Makaka: “This is an event that is generating considerable excitement among fans of Zimbabwean music.
“The success of Jah Prayzah’s album launch in Harare is a testament to the quality of music being produced by our artistes, which is undoubtedly at par with that of their US counterparts.”
Added DJ Nhunzi: “We are aiming at this point to make sure they have a show where there is no mention of the promoters, something happened with the promoters, this happened with the promoters.
“We want to make sure that they take as much money as possible just to help themselves and the folks back there.”
He highlighted the high ticket sales, saying: “The huge number of ticket sales says it all. The last show we did here in the US, we have already doubled those numbers and we are still two months away from the show, so it’s a very, very exciting time and we are also appreciative of the band. He is bringing the entire band — it’s Jah and 11 other people, including Keen his manager.”
Jah Prayzah’s manager Keen Mushapaidze said they were excited to be going back to the US after a couple of years.
“I think the last few times that we were there was for the One Africa, beautiful events, but we also didn’t get to spend as much time with our fans as we would have loved to,” he said.
“This year we are excited to organise this show for our fans. We are fully involved and hands-on, and it’s going to be quite an experience.
“Like I said, it has been a while since we were last in the US. We can feel the excitement, it’s real and it shows that the days are getting closer and closer.
“And we are also super excited whenever we get to connect with our fans at home or away from home. It’s a beautiful feeling. So, we can’t wait for DC, we can’t wait for Dallas. We can’t wait for Toronto and Edmonton.”
He added: “It’s going to be two weeks to be definitely remembered, two weeks to talk about forever, so to all our fans in the US and Canada, see you soon. July is around the corner. Let’s have fun.”
