Prominent journalist and filmmaker, Hopewell Chin’ono has claimed that ZANU PF is no longer a party but a vessel that is being used by the security sector in the country to manipulate elections.
His remarks resonate with those of several other political analysts who believe that the military has a large stake hence stakeholders and stockholders of the “party”. Posting on Twitter, Chin’ono said:
ZANU-PF as a political party doesn’t exist anymore!
If the army & other security services decided to be professional today, THAT will be the END of ZANU-PF!
We have a shell that is used to STEAL elections backed up by the military!
That is why we talk of security sector REFORMS!
