The meeting, attended by technicians from Cuanza Norte, Uíge, Malanje, Cabinda, Luanda and Bengo, is analyzing the issue of water supply to the population of these regions of the country.

The economic, financial and commercial situation of the management entities of these companies will also be analysed.

Under the motto “Sustainability of Management Companies, Challenges and Perspectives”, the event will, for two days, address topics such as “IRSEA’s importance in regulating the sector”, “Impact of technical and commercial losses in company management”, “Proposal of water payment tariffs” and the “Importance of information in the regulation of the sector”.

The event has as a special guest the director of the Water Company of the province of Cuanza Sul, to share experiences of supply, management and commercialization of the liquid in the southern region.

At the opening ceremony, the chairman of the Board of Directors of ARSEA, Luís Mourão da Silva, referred that water is a resource that contributes to the preservation of human, plant and animal life.

The official highlighted the quality of the water supplied to citizens in the country, noting that it undergoes quality control in several laboratories.

The meeting, in addition to outlining strategies for the operation of water and sanitation companies in light of the new regulations approved in May of the current year, aims to improve the quality of service, commercial relations, regulatory information and sanctions.

The director of the Provincial Office of Infrastructure and Technical Services in Cuanza Norte, Emir Francisco, representing the provincial Governor, Pedro Makita, stressed that holding the event in the district serves as an opportunity for a debate on the deficit of water supply in the city of Ndalatando, capital of the province.

The purpose of the IRSEA is to regulate the activities of production, transmission, distribution, commercialization and use of electricity in the public electricity system (SEP) and to regulate the commercial relationship between this system and agents that are not linked to it.

One of the objectives of the IRSEA is also the regulation of activities for capturing, transporting, treating, distributing and collecting water, as well as the treatment and discharge of wastewater from public supply and sanitation systems.
