Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the African Union (AU), João Lourenço, traveled to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, on Saturday to chair the 7th biannual coordination meeting between the African continental body, the Regional Economic Communities, and the Regional Mechanisms.

At the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, the statesman received farewell greetings from the Vice President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, and other officials present.

The mid-term meeting to be held on Sunday takes place halfway through the term of Angola chairing the African Union.

At the summit meeting, the African Union will assess the progress of its main platforms and projects in order to understand the state of the continent’s integration process.

During the 7th biannual coordination meeting, an assessment will also be made of the state of implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which is one of the most decisive fronts for the strategy of African leaders.
