Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, travelled Monday from Luanda back to Abu Dhabi, after a 48-hour visit to Angola at the invitation of his counterpart, João Lourenço.

At “4 de Fevereiro” International Airport, he was bid farewell by the Angolan Foreign minister, Téte António, the deputy governor of Luanda Province for the economic sector, Jorge Miguêns Augusto, as well as senior officials from the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

In the morning, the Arab statesman met with João Lourenço at the Presidential Palace, in Luanda City, preceded by a reception with military honours, including 21 cannon salutes.

At the time, Angola and the United Arab Emirates signed 44 agreements, valued at USD 6.5 billion, covering sectors such as renewable energy, logistics, mining, agriculture and agribusiness.

Relations between the two states are considered privileged, supported by several agreements in the political, diplomatic, economic, and commercial spheres.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s visit to Angola is part of the strengthening of bilateral cooperation and the consolidation of the existing strategic partnership between the two countries.
