Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Minister of Telecommunications, Information and Communication Technologies, Mário Augusto de Oliveira, reiterated, on Friday, in Lisbon, that one of the objectives in the bet of infrastructure is to technically train young people, so that they can take revenge in the global market.
Mário Oliveira talked about ”startup ecosystems investing in innovation in all continents”, at Eurafrican Forum 2025, under the high sponsorship of the Presidency of the Portuguese Republic, which runs from Friday to Saturday (July 26), in Carcavelos (Portugal).
According to the Minister, the Angolan Executive is developing actions from a regulatory point of view, to be one of the important pieces for the startup system to contribute to the development of society regarding economic growth.
He highlighted the training of young people and all how they work from the perspective of product and services development, noting that Angolan startups are solving real problems from citizens’ daily lives.
‘From solutions that gain the production of agriculture, with intelligent sensors, to urban logistics, through health and education. These initiatives not only generate economic value, but also promote inclusion, sustainability and digital sovereignty,’ he needed.
The Minister said that in the southeastern region of Angola, mobile operators do not offer business, so the government launched incubators with free internet access supported to support young people from this region.
On the other hand, it defended the need for the state ecosystem not only to be viewed as an economic engine, but as a engine of social, technological, developmental, European, and the rest of the world.
The challenges are present. The lack of specialized financing and the need for technical training, clarified, still limit the growth of many ideas, hence the challenge in this forum so that they come with us and together we can work to overcome these difficulties still lived.
The 8th edition of the Eurafrican Forum is one of the most prestigious meetings among leaders of Africa and Europe.
