Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan national chess team won its third silver medal on Thursday, finishing runner-up in the Blitz tournament at the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) Games in Dili, East Timor.
Célio Tchilulu and Daniela da Cruz lost the final match 0-1 to Matviy Faryma and Sofia Valente of Portugal.
On Wednesday, the two athletes won a silver medal each in the rapid chess tournament, bringing their total to three medals.
The Angolan team will conclude the competition on Friday with the classical event. In tennis, Filomena Gonçalves won the bronze medal as the team’s sole representative.
