Africa-Press – Angola. After a week of intense commercial and cultural activity, the 40th edition of the International Fair of Angola (Filda’2025), which took place since the 22nd of this month, in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE), in the province of Icolo and Bengo, closed Sunday.
Among lectures and product and services launches, national and foreign exhibitors were able to show the visiting public their production potential in the one that is considered the largest national promotion, business and the promotion of jobs in the country and the Austral Africa region.
During the event, visitors had the opportunity to know the innovative and high-quality products and services, as well as participating in lectures on relevant topics of today, such as technologies and artificial intelligence for the economic development of Angola.
An initiative of the Angola government and promotion of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the event is annual and aims to promote trade and investment in Angola, as well as strengthen trade relations between countries and provide future partnerships.
With an expectation of 100,000 visitors, during the six days, the holding of the Filda in the EEE-Icolo and Bengo, exhibition park, is a direct or indirect invitation to invest in Angola.
Among the various entities of the political, economic and social sectors, the event attended the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, the first lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenço, as well as MPLA Vice President Mara Quiosa.
At the time, the Vice-President of the Republic recognized the development of the Angola Agricultural Products Chain, which will allow, more than security, the reach of the country’s food sovereignty.
Costa’s Hope stressed that it was possible to see many national products, which gives the country a comfort in the ambition of greater diversification of the economy.
At the opening ceremony, the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano, said that the actual growth of the economy in 2024 was 4.4%, surpassing the average sub-Saharan Africa region.
The MInister said that, according to the economic perspective report, published by the International Monetary Fund in April this year, the average GDP growth to the subsahary region was 4.1%in 2024.
During the fair, visitors had the opportunity to learn about the most innovative and high quality products and services, as well as participating in lectures, workshops and seminars on topics relevant to Angola’s economic development.
Its change of designation, which maintains the acronym Filda, is justified by the scope of the event and the new political-administrative division of the country, according to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, which promotes the Fair, in partnership with Eventos Arena.
This edition, in the perspective of business men present and visitors, exceeded expectation in terms of product news, technology, creativity and innovation, arousing curiosity of visitors of various ages, entrepreneurs and investors interested in new technological solutions, business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
In recognition of the commitment and dedication of companies, the event organizer, Events Arena, attributed trophies to the most prominent companies.
With an expected turnover of about four billion kwanzas, in this FILDA, in which two thousand 194 exhibitors were present, representing 18 countries, the entrepreneurs were already anxious and expectants for the next edition.
Angolan companies accounted for 87 percent, with the sector of trade and distribution occupied 11 percent, food and beverage industry 9%, 8%extractive industry, 6%services, 3%agribusiness, agriculture, fishing and agriculture 7%, 7%, oil and gas technologies, and 7%construction and public works 7%.
