Africa-Press – Angola. Jurist and political analyst Lindo Bernardo Tito argued that Portuguese deputy André Ventura owes institutional respect to the President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço.
The statement was made during his participation in the program Revista Zimbo, on TV ZIMBO, presented by Leda Macuéria, where the jurist and politician reacted to the controversial statements made by the leader of the “CHEGA” party in Portugal against the Angolan statesman.
Lindo Bernardo Tito considered Ventura’s statements disrespectful, inappropriate and harmful to diplomacy between the two countries.
According to the commentator, the Chega leader, by attacking the Angolan Head of State, exceeds the limits of freedom of expression and embarks on a path of gratuitous hostility.
“He shouldn’t dream of coming here,” he declared, emphasizing that Angola is a country that rejects racism and xenophobia.
According to the politician, Ventura’s words are not only offensive to the Angolan Head of State, but also represent a disrespectful attack on the dignity of the Angolan people.
“What Ventura represents is an ideology of exclusion that Angola does not tolerate,” he said.
During the official visit, André Ventura described João Lourenço as “bloodthirsty” and a “dictator,” despite the fact that he was democratically elected. For Lindo Bernardo Tito, such words are unacceptable and constitute an attack not only on the Angolan head of state, but also on the Angolan people.
“I vehemently condemn the Portuguese congressman’s statements. André Ventura has consistently demonstrated racist and xenophobic attitudes, especially directed at Angolans living in Portugal,” the politician stated, emphasizing that such rhetoric fosters hatred and division between peoples with historical and cultural ties.
