Africa-Press – Angola. The first vice president of the National Assembly, Américo Cuononoca, met on Tuesday in Luanda with Lin Songtian, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) to discuss bilateral cooperation.

Speaking to the press at the end of the meeting, Lin Songtian said the dialogue also aimed to follow up on the consensus reached between the heads of state of both countries and to deepen mutual understanding between the peoples and strengthen historical ties.

“The two countries have already become true friends and reliable cooperation partners. We fought together in the past (…) and today we continue side by side to achieve prosperity,” he stressed, adding that the importance of expanding exchanges in the areas of culture, education, and institutions had been reiterated.

The diplomat called for closer ties between the parliaments of Angola and China and the need to encourage the exchange of experience in the communication, research centers, and other sectors of society.

Lin Songtian also encouraged Chinese companies to invest in Angola to contribute directly to economic diversification.

“We hope that our peoples will enjoy an increasingly prosperous life and that our nations will become even stronger together,” the diplomat said.

The relationship covers cooperation in infrastructure, technology, staff training, mutual support in international forums, with Chinese investments in sectors such as energy, agriculture, and industry.
