Africa-Press – Angola. Four thousand members of the National Police and Defense and Security bodies are mobilized to ensure the festive season in the 14 municipalities of the province of Malanje.
The information was given, Saturday, in this city, by the provincial delegate for the Interior, Commissioner João Cariqui, during the presentation of the staff and equipment available to cover the Christmas season and New Year’s Eve.
According to the official, the police forces are ready to defend the population from any situations that may disturb public order and tranquility, but it is urgent to adopt responsible conduct and avoid acts subject to punishment.
He highlighted that the festive season’s prevention measures cover the province’s borders with the Democratic Republic of Congo, in order to stop any tendency to violate the territory of Malanje from that country.
He specified that border security is being redoubled also due to the fact that elections are taking place in that country, due to the likelihood of breaches of order and criminals trying to take refuge in Malanje to escape the police forces.
On the other hand, João Cariqui called on citizens to avoid excessive consumption and driving, under penalty of committing crimes and compromising healthy coexistence, especially within the family, a circle where many conflicts have occurred during the festive period.
