Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS) announced, this Tuesday, the inauguration, between September and October 2023, of the Advertising Academy.
This information was provided by the Secretary of State for Social Communication, Nuno Albino Caldas, during the signing of a cooperation protocol between MINTTICS and the Advertising Festival (FESTIPUB) with the aim of valuing and promoting agents linked to the advertising market.
Without advancing costs inherent to the premises of the Advertising Academy, he said that it will work at the Journalists Training Center (CEFOJOR), in Luanda and in the province of Huambo.
“What is expected is to secure the staff that are on the market and train them from a practical point of view, especially those from Universities”, he said, considering that the intention is to expand training to overcome the deficiencies of staff and guarantee the robustness of the advertising market.
Nuno Albino Caldas informed that FESTIPUB will have the participation of foreign companies from Mozambique and Cape Verde for the first time, as well as a wide participation of students.
According to the official, the partnership created represents the strengthening of cooperation between the Executive and the social partners, from a perspective of proximity, inclusion and participation.
In turn, the National Director of Advertising, José Matuta Cuato, referred that MINTTICS decided to join the initiative through institutional support, as it understands that it is of great importance in contributing to the development of the advertising market in Angola, with exchanges of experience, transfer of knowledge, debates, as well as awards for what is best done in the advertising market.
The event, he continued, is also a way of expressing recognition for the relevance and excellence of advertisers’ work, as well as their contribution to promoting competition.
He also said that the State collected last year from advertising companies, in terms of fines and fees, over 60 million kwanzas.
On his turn, FESTIPUB’s general director, Hermenegildo Mariano, who did not say the number of companies that will participate in the festival, reiterated that cooperation is a historic milestone in advertising in the country, as it symbolizes a deep collaboration and mutual commitment to strengthen the advertising industry, making it globally more competitive, more ethical and more sustainable.
He added that the protocol is a commitment to quality, ethics and innovation, it is a declaration that advertising in Angola is dynamic and relevant.
FESTIPUB is a festival created with the aim of promoting and rewarding the excellence of creativity in business communication, rewarding advertisers, agencies, production companies and studios whose works boost, from year to year, the advertising and communication market in general,at a national level. and international.
