Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the Association of Oil Industry Service Providers (AECIPA), Bráulio de Brito, defends the need for the industry to be intrinsically linked to issues of Local Content development, including technological and human development.

Bráulio de Brito emphasizes that it is important to be linked to socio-environmental issues, in order to continue to support the sustainable development of Angola.

According to the president of AECIPA, quoted in a note, the organization has been at the center of the main decisions in the industry, playing an active role with the various State institutions, which regularly request its support.

“The service providers of the Angolan Oil Industry are part of the range of major contributors of tax revenue to the State and also employ the largest number of Angolan staff”, he said.

On the other hand, he highlighted that the payment of taxes is an obligation on the part of AECIPA, aiming to contribute to the growth and further development of the communities where its members are operating.

At another point, the note points out that AECIPA held its 1st Extraordinary General Assembly on April 27, in line with the Association’s statutory and good governance procedures, having presented an overview of the activities carried out over the last semester, the closing balance sheet for the previous year, as well as for the first quarter of 2023.

The Assembly also debated its work plan for the remaining year and its strategy for socio-environmental responsibility projects.

Another highlight of this General Assembly was the election of two more board members, thus completing the Association’s board of directors, which now has 7 members, including the Chairman of the Board, Bráulio de Brito.

AECIPA has more than 160 associates and is focused on being the voice of the sector and the main partner of the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, the National Agency of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels, operating companies and all other government agents, which contribute to the good performance of the Angolan oil industry.
