Africa-Press – Angola. The General Tax Administration (AGT) presented, this Thursday, in Moçâmedes, Namibe province, its education and tax citizenship plan, with a view to increasingly raising the level of citizens’ literacy in paying taxes.
The aforementioned program was presented during a “Tax Reform” workshop promoted by the director of the 5th Tax Region, Milton da Costa, having mentioned that the meeting also aimed to bring taxpayers closer to tax entities and clarify some of the citizens’ doubts.
According to the source, the rapprochement between taxpayers and AGT has been possible through the creation of digital platforms and systems that facilitate access to the services provided by the institution, which aims to be recognized nationally and internationally.
In this regard, participants recognized the progress made in public financial management systems in recent years in Angola.
José Luís, taxpayer, stated that AGT’s initiative allowed him to resolve doubts about the new procedures, reaffirming his commitment to continuing to comply with his tax obligations.
In turn, the deputy municipal administrator of Virei, Narciso Pires, valued the event and presented the new fiscal instruments and the medium-term vision of the Angolan economy.
During the workshop, participants also reflected on the evolution of monitoring and control of public expenditure and the public debt certification process and mechanisms.
