Africa-Press – Angola. The diplomat Emílio Miguel de Carvalho Sobrinho delivered to the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, the credentials accrediting him as Angola’s extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador in that European country.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs refers that, during the meeting, the Serbian President welcomed the new ambassador, with wishes for a good stay and work in Belgrade.
Vučić also reiterated Serbia’s commitment to maintain friendly relations with the Republic of Angola, based on mutual understanding, respect, support and common values, noting that there are significant potential indicators to improve the economy and cooperation in various areas, such as Agriculture and Food Industry, Metallurgical and Electrical Industry, Construction, Tourism, Information and Communication Technology.
At the end of the meeting, the President of Serbia highlighted the ties of friendship with Angola, considering the consistent position based on the principles of respect for the territorial integrity of the country in Eastern Europe.
On his turn, Ambassador Emílio Miguel de Carvalho Sobrinho thanked the “warm reception” and reiterated Angola’s commitment to closer relations.
The diplomat proposed the formation of a work team to speed up cooperation between both countries and requested an increase in the number of scholarships for Angolan students within the scope of the World Program in Serbia.
