Africa-Press – Angola. The deepening of inter-parliamentary relations was, on Friday, the basis of the meeting between the president of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, and a delegation from the Communist Party of China, led by deputy Yin Li.
Yin Li, who is a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China, is also responsible for the city of Beijing.
The secretary of the MPLA Political Bureau for International International Relations and deputy, Manuel Augusto, witnessed the audience that Carolina Cerqueira held with the Chinese delegation.
Speaking to the press, Manuel Augusto emphasized that, as a member of the Chinese Parliament, Yin Li made a point of offering courtesy greetings to the president of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira.
Before that, he met with the vice-president of the MPLA, Luísa Damião.
According to Manuel Augusto, in all meetings China’s willingness and availability to continue working with Angola was reaffirmed, mainly to participate in the country’s economic development efforts and consequent social progress.
He added that the Asian giant also expressed its willingness to continue sharing with Angola a common and close vision, wherever possible, on major current international issues.
“We are at an important and delicate stage in the world in terms of international relations. There are several issues today that are of concern to all world leaders and the Chinese delegation understands that permanent consultation between the various international partners is necessary”, he stressed.
The delegation from the Communist Party of China, which arrived in the country this Friday, has scheduled visits to the Geological Institute of Angola (IGEO), Kilamba Shopping (photographic exhibition, gastronomy and Chinese culture fair).
The Chinese delegation will also visit the Military History Museum and the Dr António Agostinho Neto Memorial.
Founded in July 1921, in Shanghai, the Communist Party of China (CCP) has governed the Asian giant since 1949. It has more than 87 million members.
China has one of the largest economies in the world and is also the third largest nation in terms of land mass.
