Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and Cuba discussed, Wednesday (16th), in Luanda, the strengthening and development of cooperation in the field of defense and security, with particular focus on the sector of Industry, Health and Military Education.

Cooperation in defense and security, considered a fundamental part of relations between the two countries, was evaluated during an audience granted by the Minister of State and head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, General Francisco Furtado, to the deputy minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba, General Joaquim Quintas Solas.

Senior military leaders also reviewed the social situation in Cuba, a country that was devastated last October by Hurricane “Ian.

The Cuban military delegation has been in the country since last Tuesday, as part of a working visit. Angola and Cuba have signed a series of agreements in various fields of cooperation.

The first agreement between the two countries dates back to February 1976, and deals with the sectors of Health and Education. The two states share political, diplomatic, economic, commercial and cultural ties.
