Africa-Press – Angola. The Governments of Angola and Mozambique signed five legal instruments to strengthen cooperation in the areas of transport, culture, social action and tourism.
The documents are signed during the working visit that the President of Mozambique, Daniel Chapo, is making today and Saturday to Angola.
The signing of agreements on air services and on merchant shipping and ports is planned, to be signed by the Angolan Minister of Transport and the Mozambican Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
A memorandum of understanding between the two countries in the field of social action and gender equality will be signed by the Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs and his Mozambican counterpart.
The Executive Cooperation Program in the cultural field for the three-year period 2025-2028 between Angola and Mozambique will be signed by the Angolan Minister of Culture and the head of Mozambican diplomacy.
Another memorandum of understanding between the Mozambique Tourism Institute (Inatur IP) and the Angola Tourism Institute (Infortur) will also be signed.
The President of Mozambique arrived this morning at the Presidential Palace in Luanda for a private meeting with his counterpart, João Lourenço.
According to the program, while the two heads of state hold official talks, delegations from both countries will also meet, followed by the signing of agreements and statements to the press by the two Presidents.
On this two-day visit, at the invitation of João Lourenço, with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations and identifying opportunities for investment and economic cooperation, Daniel Chapo is accompanied by a delegation that includes the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Maria dos Santos Lucas, Mineral Resources and Energy, Estevão Pale, Economy, Basílio Muhate, and Transport and Logistics, João Matlombe, as well as the Secretary of State for the Treasury and Budget, Amílcar Tivane.
In addition to the meeting with João Lourenço, Daniel Chapo’s program includes a trip to the Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone (ZEE), to identify “investment and business opportunities to develop in Angola”, and participation in a dinner in his honor promoted by the Angolan Banking Association (ABANC).
