Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and Mozambique will face each other on Wednesday (17) at 3 pm in Algarve, Portugal, as part of their preparation for the African Cup of Nation “AFCON 2025-26”, which will take place from the 21st of the current month to the 18th of Jan 2026, in Morocco.

According to a federation source, the match was initially scheduled for Tuesday (16), but was moved to a day after due to operational issues, at a time when all 28 athletes of the national team are already in training camp.

The second friendly against the DRC was canceled due to scheduling issues, and Angola’s preparation for the AFCON, in addition to field work, is limited to this single game against the Mambas.

In the continental event, Angola is in group B with Egypt, South Africa and Zimbabwe, while Mozambique, in group F, will face Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon and Gabon in the initial phase.

The angolans leave for Rabat on Thursday (18), then heading to their group’s stage, the city of Marrakech.

Angola’s debut in the 35th Edition of the African Cup of Nations will take place on the 22nd of the curremt month against South Africa, at 5 pm.
