Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan President João Lourenço was awarded the Gold Ribbon by the Association of African National Olympic Committees (ACNOA) in recognition of his dedication to and support of sports and the Olympic movement.
According to the Presidency of the Republic, the award was presented on Tuesday by ACNOA president Mustapha Berraf to Minister of State for Social Affairs Maria do Rosário Bragança at the City Palace in Luanda.
The ceremony took place during the IV African Youth Games, which Angola is hosting this month. The games bring together approximately 3,000 people, including athletes, technical officials, and heads of delegations from 54 African countries, in Luanda and Bengo.
With three gold medals won, eight silver medals, and four bronze medals, Angola occupies ninth position in the overall ranking of the IV African Youth Games seven days after the start of the competition.
