Africa-Press – Angola. Angola participates, as guest, in the 21st International Film and Migration Festival in Agadir, Morocco.

The event brings together filmmakers, producers, and cultural professionals for a program dedicated to dialogue between artistic creation and migratory experiences.

According to a press release from the Angolan Embassy in Morocco that reached, Angolan participation aims to promote national cinema on the international stage and strengthen cultural cooperation with Morocco and other African partners.

This year’s edition is noteworthy for Angolan participation in the international juries. Director Dom Pedro is on the jury for the feature film category, chaired by Moroccan writer Abdelkader Chaoui.

The jury panel also includes Malagasy director and producer Maéva Ranaïvojaona; Moroccan actor, producer, director, and filmmaker Hamid Basket; and Brazilian director and producer Sérgio Tréfaut.

The short film jury is chaired by Angolan director Pocas Pascoal and includes Moroccan journalist and cultural activist Amazigh Amina Bencheikh and actor and journalist Lahoucine Echaabi.

Running until December 13, the event includes feature and short films in competition, as well as debates, workshops, and other activities with professionals from different countries.

Angola’s participation reinforces the country’s visibility in the African film circuit and promotes artistic exchange between national and international creators.
