Africa-Press – Angola. Angola participates, on the 16th and 17th of the current month, in the 14th Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), taking place in the United Arab Emirates.

The meeting, which brings together global leaders and energy decision-makers, plans to address various issues related to renewable energy, to chart a strategic path to follow in all countries, regions and the world.

According to a press release, member states will discuss policies, strategies and projects to boost the transition to a cleaner and more sustainable energy matrix.

Under the presidency of Rwanda, Angola is vice-president, together with the Dominican Republic, Georgia and the Republic of Iraq and will be represented by the Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges.

The report states that the session will delve deeper into the theme “results of COP28, infrastructures, policies and skills to triple Renewable Energy and Accelerate the Energy Transition”.

The work agenda also includes addressing topics such as “emerging technologies”, “investments”, “regulatory policies” and “international cooperation to face the challenges of the energy transition”, according to the note.
