Within the framework of the African Climate Summit and the African Climate Week, multisectoral technicians, including Angolans, have already broken down in preparatory meetings since last Monday.

The first African Climate Summit, led by the President of Kenya, William Ruto, with the support of the AU, will address the growing exposure to climate change and the associated costs, globally and in Africa in particular.

With the initiative, African leaders, once again, seek to outline urgent measures to mitigate the effects of climate change.

As for the Summit, it is a platform to inform, frame and influence commitments, pledges and outcomes, ultimately leading to the development of the Nairobi Declaration.

Under the motto, “Driving Green Growth and Climate Finance Solutions for Africa and the World”, the Forum will also focus on presenting innovative green growth and climate finance solutions in Africa and the world.

For this purpose, representatives of the African Development Bank Group (ADB) and the World Bank (WB), regional and global partners of this Summit, respectively, join the collective.

The two events, which are expected to host more than 30,000 participants, are intended to galvanize international collaboration and shape a sustainable future for Africa.

As for the African Climate Week, an annual event, it will take place simultaneously at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, in partnership with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
