Angola Supreme Military Court Delegation Visits Italy

Africa-Press – Angola. A delegation from the Angola Supreme Military Court led by General Cristo António Salvador Alberto, arrived Tuesday in Italy to strengthen diplomatic ties and cooperation with this European country.

The delegation’s visit, which ends on July 27, aims to promote the exchange of legal experiences and deepen institutional dialogue between the two countries in the field of military justice.

Right after arriving in the Italian capital, the members of the Angolan delegation were received by the Angolan ambassador to Italy, Josefa Sacko, to whom they presented courtesy greetings.

The delegation also includes Lieutenant General Fernando de Matos Noé Augusto Tavira, Judge Counselor; Captain Francisco António Mateus, Military Judge; and Colonel António Gomes Luis, Angola’s Defense Attaché in Italy.

Its work program includes meetings with several Italian judicial institutions, including the military prosecutor at the Military court of Rome and the chief of the same court, Stefano Palazzi, as well as a hearing at the Supreme Court of Cassation with the first female president of Italy’s highest judicial court.

The delegation’s visit is part of the Supreme Military Tribunal’s efforts to strengthen the specialized legal training of its staff and establish mechanisms for international cooperation in matters of military law and judicial monitoring.
