Africa-Press – Angola. Six young Angolan athletes will participate in the “Sports Visitors Program”, which will take place from July 8 to 22 in Atlanta, Georgia and Canton, Ohio, in the United States of America (USA).
The program aimed at Portuguese speakers highlights the ongoing commitment to using sport as a powerful tool for social transformation and developing female potential, according to a press release.
For the US ambassador to Angola, Tulinabo Mushingi, Sports Diplomacy programs demonstrate the North American dedication to strengthening community ties and promoting equality through sport.
Danilson Morais, a prominent coach and former Sports Visitor 2023 participant, was in attendance, serving as an inspiration by demonstrating the sustainability and ongoing impact of these programs on the community.
In turn, Khadijah Tungo, a young woman who stood out in 2022, is now a student in the United States thanks to a sports scholarship, exemplifying the success and opportunities offered through these initiatives.
On the other hand, the celebration of the 4th of July this year, United States Independence Day, will be dedicated to the theme of Sports Diplomacy, emphasizing the importance of sport in strengthening ties between people.
