Africa-Press – Angola. The process of exporting Angolan coffee to Russia is in the negotiation phase, through Novagrolíder, one of the leading companies in agricultural production in Angola, which already exports this product to Portugal, Spain, Italy and Turkey, according to José Macedo, managing partner of this company.
This Friday, the businessman confirmed that contacts are being made to successfully expand the sale of coffee produced in the municipality of Quibala (Kuanza-Sul) on the Russian market.
“We have two containers in the pipeline, with the possibility of being exported to the Russian market, taking advantage of the scarcity of this product on the international market, as a result of little global production”, he highlighted.
Without advancing the date or quantity of the product to be exported, he added that the company also intends to enter the South African and Zimbabwean markets, after having reached the Italian market this year and Turkey at the end of last year.
According to José Macedo, with the entry of Angolan coffee into the Russian market, Novagrolíder hopes to increasingly strengthen its position as a leader in the export of “Made in Angola”, contributing to the country’s economic development and promoting product excellence Angolans on the global stage.
He said that, despite facing climate challenges, the company remains committed to the quality and expansion of its exports, taking the “authentic taste of Angolan coffee” to new markets around the world.
Currently, he said, the coffee harvest on Quibala farms is underway and has already reached the 200 ton mark.
In addition to coffee, Novagrolíder’s “Made in Angola” products are consumed in Portugal, Spain, Italy and France.
With close to 4 thousand workers, in the agricultural, livestock and industrial segments, the company produces more than 60 thousand tons of fruit annually, with bananas being the main export product. It also grows mango, pitaya, melon, watermelon, pineapple, papaya, papaya, passion fruit and guava.
Fazenda Novagrolíder is part of GrupoLíder, a company governed by Angolan law that develops activities in various sectors of the national economy.
